A fire broke out in a transformer located near the Trauma Centre of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Thursday afternoon, officials from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) confirmed to PTI.

According to the DFS, the emergency call was received at 3:34 pm which prompted the dispatch of eight fire tenders to the site. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the blaze under control, and no injuries were reported.

"The fire was confined to a transformer near the AIIMS Trauma Centre. It has been completely extinguished. Fortunately, no one was harmed," a DFS official told the news agency.



"We received information about fire in the transformer at 3.35 pm. The fire broke out due to the heat. A total of 8 fire tenders were involved in the operation. There are no casualties. The fire has been extinguished," fire officer Manoj Mehlawat told ANI.

As of now, AIIMS has not issued an official statement regarding the incident and reports of damage are yet to come in.
