In recent times, several videos and photos of cheating in competitive examinations in Bihar have gone viral on social media. Assisted with high-tech gadgets the cheaters have become advanced to outwit even the most vigilant invigilators.

To stop the widespread cheating menace in the state, Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, inaugurated an one-of-a-kind examination complex in Patna yesterday. The facility has been named 'Bapu Pariksha Parisar' (Bapu Examination Complex) in honor of Mahatma Gandhi.

Costing a staggering sum of over Rs 260 crore, this state-of-the-art complex spans across an impressive six acres. It is equipped with an array of security measures such as CCTV cameras, cellphone jammers, and webcasting facilities. These features are provided to thwart attempts to us any unfair means during exams. To put its vastness into perspective, the complex has the potential to accommodate more than 25,000 examinees, surpassing the capacities of several stadiums.


Notably, the inaugural phase of the complex boasts 44 halls with a seating capacity of 20,680 students for offline examinations. As the complex progresses, an additional 20 halls will be constructed for online examinations, providing room for another 4,400 students. Ultimately, the complex's grand total will house 25,080 examinees, ensuring a robust capacity for the coming years.

The chief minister's office issued a communique detailing the structure's design, emphasizing the two distinct blocks within the main building dedicated to facilitating the examinees.

Following the inauguration, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took a tour of the sprawling six-story main building. During this visit, he took a keen interest in the facilities arranged for the examinees.
