Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has suspended four more employees on Saturday for allegedly following a non-Hindu religion, bringing the total number of such suspensions to five.

The action was taken after the TTD’s vigilance department submitted a report, which officials said included evidence supporting allegations of “gross misconduct” and engagement in religious practices that go against the Tirupati temple trust’s code of conduct.

The suspended individuals are: B Elizar, deputy executive engineer (quality control); S Rosi, staff nurse at BIRRD Hospital; M Premavati, grade-I pharmacist at BIRRD Hospital; and Dr G Asuntha, currently on deputation at SV Ayurveda Pharmacy and formerly principal of SPW Polytechnic College.

As per official memos, the employees were found in violation of Rule 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964, which lays out the general standards of conduct expected from government servants.
