Tirupati Balaji temple: TTD said is taking nearly 30-40 hours for Darshan to tokenless devotees due to the heavy summer rush
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has announced some changes in rules for Darshan in the backdrop of a heavy summer vacation rush after almost three years post relaxation of Covid restrictions. These changes will be effective till June 30, said TTD Chairman Sri YV Subba Reddy in a statement.

TTD said it is taking nearly 30-40 hours for Darshan at Tirupati Balaji temple to tokenless devotees due to the heavy summer rush. So it has introduced some changes till June 30 in VIP Break Darshan and Arjita Sevas.

Accordingly, TTD has withdrawn the discretionary quota in Suprabata Seva on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, a move that will save 20 minutes for common devotees.

Similarly, TTD has decided to perform Tiruppavada Seva on Thursdays in Ekantam, thereby saving 30 minutes.

"It’s also been decided not to accept VIP recommendation letters on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays but allow break Darshan for only self-VIPs which will save 3 hours of Darshan time on each of these days," TTD said.

"These decisions will be implemented keeping in view the common devotees providing them with comfortable and quick Srivari Darshan avoiding long waiting lines and time," it added.

TTD has appealed to all devotees and VIPs to cooperate and give opportunity for all devotees to have comfortable Srivari Darshan.

According to TTD website, in Tirumala at present three pujas are performed, one in the morning in conjunction with Thomala Seva which is open to public, another abridged puja in Madyahna (in the afternoon) and third one at night which is strictly a private one in which the archakas, the paricharakas and the acharya purushas of the temple alone takes part.

The temple administration of Tirumala Tirupati Devathanams(TTD) performs daily arjita sevas to the presiding deity as a matter of divine exercise and also allows Grihastas (pilgrims) as partners in the exercise as a token of involvement of the devout service.
