Three suspected cattle lifters were hacked to death in Khowai district in Tripura.

A senior police official who do not want to be named told ET, " The lifters had taken away five cattle and was running away when mob spotted them at North Maharanipur. Their vehicle dashed against a tree. One person died on the spot while two died in the hospital. "

Those died as identified as Jayed Hossain, Billal Mia and Saiful Islam. A case is registered.


Opposition parties including Communist Party of India-Marxist and ‘TIPRA Motha' condemned the incident.
