Following incessant rain in the upper reaches of Meghalaya, the dam of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) in Dima Hasao district of Assam got flooded and three personnel from NEEPCO who went for repair work died as a tree fall on them.

A senior officer in NEEPCO who does not want to be named told ET, “Incessant rain flooded the dam and power house following which three people have gone there to inspect and there a tree falls on them. These are initial reports details will be known later.”

He added those deceased included General Manager Jayanta Saikia, Deputy General Manager Anupam Saikia and casual worker Dimaraji Johari.
