KIM added that the murder of these three brave village volunteers in Noney District is the direct consequence of the state’s reckless refusal to provide adequate security to vulnerable Kuki-Zo communities, leaving them open to persistent threats, armed intimidation, and systematic violence by terrorist cadres. Despite clear, foreseeable dangers and repeated warnings, the total absence of state protection forced innocent citizens to volunteer to defend their own homes and lives. “Adding to this heinous crime, the perpetrators committed appalling acts of barbarism by physically desecrating and kicking the corpses of the deceased while laughing and mocking their fallen bodies. Such sadistic conduct crosses every line of human decency. It demonstrates a grotesque contempt for human life and sanity, a level of depravity that can never be tolerated or excused in any civilised society,” KIM added.
KIM accused the authorities of complicity through deliberate negligence. The continued, unchecked free rein given to these armed groups, combined with the government's persistent failure to protect Kuki-Zo settlements in Noney District and across the region, has created a lawless sanctuary for terror. The government’s continued tolerance of NSCN-IM’s terrorist operations reinforces the undeniable reality that this group acts as a proxy instrument deployed to advance vested political agendas at the expense of Kuki-Zo lives. The government bears full constitutional, legal, and moral responsibility for this bloodshed.
Kuki Inpi Manipur stands in unyielding solidarity with the bereaved families and the entire Kuki-Zo community. The ultimate sacrifice of these three heroes in Noney District will not be reduced to mere statistics. We demand justice, accountability, and immediate state action. Silence and inaction in the face of this barbarism are total complicity.
