Shimla: Three men from Punjab have been arrested for allegedly stabbing the driver, conductor and two passengers of a Delhi-bound bus after an argument over a road rage incident in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district, police said on Thursday.

The accused have been identified as Nishan Pal (46), resident of Sagla village in the Hoshiarpur district, Balvinder Singh (45) and Alish (21), both residents of Pathankot, Punjab.

According to police, the incident took place on Wednesday night near Thural village when a dispute ensued when the accused, who were travelling in a Thar, tried to overtake the bus but were unable to do so.


They stopped the bus and engaged in a heated argument with the driver and passengers. The accused also allegedly fired shots in the air to intimidate the victims.

The police reached the spot and arrested the accused while rushing the injured to Tanda Medical College where they are undergoing treatment. They also seized the weapon used in the crime from the spot.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Rattan confirmed the report and said a case under sections 109, 126(2), 352, 351(2), 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 and section 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
