The Uttar Pradesh Police have booked three people over an "objectionable" Facebook post against the general secretary of the trust set up for the construction and management of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Champat Rai.

The petitioner, Bijnor resident Sanjay Bansal who said he is the brother of Rai, alleged that a local journalist named Vineet Narayan had made objectionable and derogatory remarks against the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary.

The journalist in his post had accused Rai of grabbing the land of a gaushala to benefit his family. Bijnor SP Dharmveer Singh said on the basis of the post, the police had lodged an FIR against two men, Narayan and Rajnish Kumar, and a woman, Alka Lahoti, under various penal sections for "forging a fake document and using objectionable language".
