Speaking at Cotton University in Guwahati, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar showcased India's achievements, highlighting its journey from being among the "Fragile Five" economies to becoming the fifth-largest economy globally. He emphasized that India's voice is now heard on the global stage, with those who once advised India now seeking its advice.

Dhankar also acknowledged the significant contributions made by Cotton University's alumni to various fields, including politics. Notably, the state of Assam has seen eight Chief Ministers hailing from this institution, demonstrating its political influence.

Reflecting on his experience of presiding over the Rajya Sabha on a historic day, Dhankar shared how the world watched Indian democracy, home to 1/6 of humanity. He encouraged students to watch these proceedings on Sansad TV and noted that 17 women parliamentarians from the area presided over the house on that day.

The Vice President underscored India's impressive growth, describing it as "unstoppable." He expressed his delight at world leaders recognizing India's high benchmark and its diplomatic soft power, particularly citing the Delhi Declaration as a historic diplomatic victory.

Furthermore, Dhankar mentioned India's economic rise, with the goal of becoming the third-largest global economy by 2030, overtaking Japan and Germany. He cited the International Monetary Fund's acknowledgment of India as a shining economy and a favored global destination for investment and opportunities.

The Vice President also highlighted the enormous potential of the National Hydrogen Commission, which is expected to create jobs for thousands and attract over eight lakh crores in investment. He noted the remarkable progress in technology, with India's per capita data consumption surpassing that of China and the United States combined in 2022.
