Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale on Wednesday said that three people have been arrested in connection with the 'Bulli Bai' app case and more arrests are likely. The latest arrest has come from Uttarakhand where 21-year-old Mayank Pradipsingh Rawat has been arrested. Rawat is being brought to Mumbai on a transit remand. The Mumbai police had earlier arrested a 21-year-old youth from Bengaluru and another 18-year-old girl from Uttarakhand.

At a press conference on Wednesday, Nagrale said there were likely to be more people involved in the case but refused to divulge information as 'it could comprise the investigation'.

"We can't reveal much as the accused could destroy the evidence as most of it is online."

The Bulli deals app had put up hundreds of pictures of Muslim women and encouraged followers to post vulgar comments against them.

Nagrale said that the Bulli Bai app was created with the intention of circulating it and spreading it on the internet. "When we analysed the Bulli Bai twitter handle, we found only five followers. After technical analysis we arrested the first accused Vishal Kumar Jha from Bengaluru who is a second year Civil Engineering student... We have also got custody of Shweta Singh, the second accused and she is also being brought to Mumbai on a five-day transit remand," the Police Commissioner said.
