The KSU is alleging that the structure had been illegally constructed on government revenue land in violation of the purpose for which the land was originally allotted.
On Tuesday KSU supporters locked the temple under construction inside the CBI office campus and served a one-week ultimatum to demolish it.
A KSU delegation led by Central Executive Council Assistant Organising Secretary Jeremiah Pohthmi met the CBI DIG to raise objections. The meeting witnessed a heated exchange.

Pohthmi said the KSU had previously taken up the issue with CBI officials who assured no further construction. However, it resumed. After a spot inspection found the structure nearing completion, the union locked it.
The KSU demanded demolition or removal within one week, warning of stronger agitation otherwise.
