Telangana, Karnataka impose night curfews, curbs

The Telangana government on Tuesday imposed a 9 pm to 5 am curfew across the state till the end of April in a bid to contain the spread of Covid-19. This comes a day after the Hyderabad High Court set a 48-hour deadline for the state government to decide on steps to curb the spread of the virus.

The night curfew order also comes a day after chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao tested positive for Covid-19.The state government has ordered offices, shops and restaurants among other establishments to shut down by 8 pm, while exempting hospitals, pharmacies and those in essential services.

Karnataka Order

The Karnataka government has also imposed a night curfew from April 21 to May 4 from 9 pm to 6 am. Cinema halls, gyms, theatres, bars, pubs, and religious places to remain shut during the night curfew. Also, a weekend curfew will also be imposed from Friday 9 pm to Monday 6 am.
