Sources revealed that the girl's brother had obtained a loan of Rs 25,000 from Caspor Micro Finance Company approximately three months ago. The company's representative had arrived in the village on Friday to collect the instalment amount from 20 villagers who had also taken loans from the same firm. Unfortunately, the girl's family could not make the payment of Rs 585 on time, as her brother was not present at home during the visit.
Later that day, the girl visited the company's office to deposit the outstanding amount. It was there that she encountered an employee, who allegedly grabbed her hand and subjected her to derogatory language for the delay in the monthly loan payment. Feeling humiliated, she returned home and consumed poison late at night.
In an attempt to save her life, the girl was rushed to a local hospital. However, due to the severity of her condition, she was referred to the Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital in Hazaribag, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Upon learning of the incident, local authorities sprung into action. Avinash Kumar, the sub-divisional police officer of Chatra, stated that they have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the young girl's tragic decision. He emphasized, "Whoever is found guilty will not be spared."
The officer-in-charge of the local police station disclosed that they have not yet received a formal complaint from the girl's family. They are currently awaiting a written complaint from the bereaved family to proceed with the registration of an FIR in this distressing case.
