Technical glitches plagued functioning of the Supreme Court, considerably slowing down work of almost all benches on Monday. The Chief Justice of India expressed frustration over the issue and was forced to put off some important cases for Tuesday.

Buffering affected hearing before some benches. In others, the judges couldn't establish contact either visually or audio with lawyers. By evening, the SC website was also down. A message on the site said it was overloaded or under maintenance. SC was forced to change its official website once earlier after hackers targeted it.

In one case involving anticipatory bail sought by Bengal CM Mamata Bannerjee's election agent SK Supian, the CJI admitted that there was a server issue. "There is already a server issue. If all of you speak together, we won't understand a thing," he told lawyers competing to get a word in during the virtual hearing. Technical glitches also forced the CJI to adjourn till Tuesday a hearing on Future Retail's plea against banks and other lenders against declaring the company a non-performing asset. Banks have sought to initiate insolvency proceedings against the company amid its loan repayment defaults.
