A Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee faced suspension after reporting a security incident within the company, as per a post on Reddit. The employee revealed that their manager had allegedly instructed staff to use personal laptops and share login credentials, actions that violate TCS policy. Despite the company's whistleblower protection policy, the employee claimed they received no support from HR or managers due to strained relations.

The employee expressed frustration, stating, "According to the TCS whistleblower policy no action can be taken against whistleblower but today I received a suspension notice. Some background: my HR and managers will not help me because of poor relations."

Reddit users offered various suggestions, including escalating the issue to higher authorities within the Tata group. One user advised, "Raise it on LinkedIn. Tagging higher officials of Tata group. (Not only TCS). All this act is against, Tata code of conduct. Spread this like a wild fire on x, LinkedIn and other social media platforms."

Another user shared their experience, suggesting, "Raise this issue with TCS ethics committee. They will definitely look into this." They recounted a similar incident during their TCS training where a colleague reported unethical behavior to the ethics committee, leading to an investigation and resolution.

A third user recommended using the company's escalation matrix to address the issue effectively. They advised, "Make it clear that you intend to go to the top of the matrix and so each level that refuses to comply goes under the bus." They emphasized the seriousness with which the top level of Tata Group views policy adherence and suggested considering alternative job opportunities if necessary.

In a concerning trend, someone remarked, "Can't trust anyone from the Management side, especially after the change in CEO side," highlighting a lack of trust in the company's leadership.

Last year, TCS made headlines for firing six employees for accepting favors from staffing firms while hiring contract workers, underscoring the company's commitment to ethical practices.
