“The Tata Group is a long-standing investor in the UK, supporting jobs, advanced manufacturing, and the transition to clean technologies,” the British High Commission said. “As Chairman, Chandrasekaran has made an exceptional contribution to UK-India business relations over many years.”

Cameron described him as “an amazing friend of the UK and an iconic figure in India’s corporate world,” highlighting his leadership, foresight, and efforts to expand trade links between the two countries. She noted that Tata Group is among the largest Indian employers in the UK, with 19 subsidiaries operating across sectors including automotive, steel, technology, and consumer goods.

In his remarks, Chandrasekaran credited the honour to his colleagues at Tata Group. “With over 70,000 employees, Tata Group has built a strong, lasting relationship with the UK across technology, consumer, hospitality, steel, chemicals, and automotive sectors, and through iconic brands like JLR and Tetley,” he said.
