The tourist, identified as Vetri Duraisamy, was involved in an accident on Sunday when the car he was traveling in plunged into the Satluj river, resulting in the death of the driver and leaving another tourist injured.
Search Operation Underway
According to officials, the accident took place near Kashang Nullah on Sunday afternoon, causing the vehicle, carrying tourists from Tamil Nadu, to roll down into the river. Despite efforts by the police, one tourist, identified as Vetri Duraisamy, remains unaccounted for. Gopi Nath, another tourist involved in the accident, sustained injuries and has been admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla for treatment.
Father's Appeal for Help
In a heartfelt plea, Vetri Duraisamy's father, Saidai Duraisamy, has urged local residents to assist in locating his missing son. The concerned father, deeply distressed by the situation, has announced the significant reward of ₹1 crore for any individual who provides information leading to Vetri's safe return.
Ongoing Investigation
Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur, Amit Kumar Sharma, confirmed receiving a WhatsApp message from Vetri's father, expressing his desperation and commitment to finding his son. Authorities have initiated search operations to locate Vetri while also investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. The body of the driver, identified as Tenzin, was recovered from the river on Monday.
