BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has been unanimously elected by all newly elected MLAs at a crucial legislative party meeting. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is the Central Observer for the BJP in West Bengal, chaired the meeting to elect the leader of the legislative party and finalise the next Chief Minister of the state. The oath-taking ceremony for the new Chief Minister is scheduled for May 9.
