The apex court said it would await another mediation report in November before taking up the matter further.

The matter centres on the RK Family Trust, which Rani Kapur has alleged was created using "forged, fabricated and fraudulent" documents. In her plea, she has sought to have the trust declared null and void and has accused her daughter-in-law and others of unlawfully taking control of assets that she claims rightfully belong to her.
Rani Kapur has also sought directions to restrain Priya Kapur and other family members from acting on behalf of the trust while the matter remains pending.
The legal battle concerns the ownership and management of assets linked to the Kapur family, promoters of the Sona Group. Parallel proceedings relating to the estate and trust are also pending before the Delhi High Court.
Sunjay Kapur, former chairman of Sona Comstar, died on June 12, 2025, after collapsing during a polo match in England. He was reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest.
