Letter petition in SC seeks probe into Ram Mandir donation irregularities

A letter petition has been submitted to the Supreme Court alleging irregularities in the handling of donations and offerings made by devotees at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, including claims of misappropriation and disappearance of funds, according to ANI report.

The petition, sent by advocate Anoop Prakash Awasthi, has urged the apex court to order the registration of an FIR and direct an independent probe into the alleged irregularities.

According to the petition, an investigation by an independent agency such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should be conducted under the supervision of the court into the alleged misappropriation of temple donations.


The plea has also sought the establishment of a continuing judicial oversight mechanism to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of temple funds.

The petitioner has urged the court to put in place safeguards for devotees' contributions and ensure transparency in the collection, accounting, custody and disbursal of donations made to the temple.

The matter pertains to the handling of funds and offerings received at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, one of the country's most prominent religious sites, and seeks judicial intervention to ensure proper oversight of donations.
