The Supreme Court (SC) has asked the Centre to provide Z+ security to billionaire Mukesh Ambani and his family and the security should be made available not only in Mumbai but also throughout the country and abroad.

If there is a security threat, the security cover cannot be restricted to a particular area or place of stay, a bench led by Justice Krishna Murari said, adding that the entire expenses and cost of providing Z+ security cover within the territory of India or abroad shall be borne by the Ambanis. The highest Z+ security cover is to be ensured by the Maharashtra government and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

The court found that the security cover provided to Ambanis has been the subject matter of controversy at different places and in different High Courts.
