The Supreme Court Collegium on Friday recommended the appointment of Calcutta High Court judge Justice Sujoy Paul as the Chief Justice.
Sujoy Paul was sworn in as the chief justice of Calcutta High Court on Friday.

West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose administered the oath of office to Justice Paul at a function in court number one, the chief justice's court room.

Justice Paul was appointed as a judge of the high court on July 18, 2025.


He was officiating as the Acting Chief Justice of the high court since the retirement of former Chief Justice T S Sivagnanam.
