Subodh Kumar Singh gets additional charge of FCI

Subodh Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, the Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD) has taken the additional charge of chairman and managing director the Food Corporation of India (FCI).

This comes days after its chairman and managing director Atish Chandra was transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as Additional Secretary.

The change has taken place in the middle of rabi procurement season when concerns about sluggish procurement of wheat have been flagged.


Singh will be in charge for three months or till a subsequent notice is issued, whichever is earlier.
