Kabaddi player dies of rabies
Brijesh, a 22-year-old kabaddi player, has died in Bulandshahr after allegedly not receiving an anti-rabies vaccine following a dog bite. He was a state-level player and resident of Farana village.

The incident occurred two months ago when Brijesh was bitten by a puppy while rescuing it. His family said he did not get the necessary anti-rabies shots.

Brijesh's health worsened on June 28, and he died despite attempts to get him medical care. He was the youngest of three brothers.

His brother, Sandeep, said, "He didn't think it was serious and didn't get vaccinated. Later, a private hospital in Aligarh confirmed he had been bitten by a rabid animal, likely a monkey or dog."

"He went to practice in the village and got a little bite from a dog after pulling it out of a drain. He did not pay attention to it. We had not heard of a rabies case... The illness after the bite was confirmed in Aligarh Hospital after I reported that he was hesitating in drinking water... I demand from the government that we be provided a job because my brother was the sole breadwinner of the family..." Sandeep's brother said.
