Extensive police raids began in Punjab in the morning hours of September 21 as part of the intensifying hunt for criminals linked to infamous gangster Goldy Brar.

According to official sources cited by news agency PTI, the Punjab Police launched raids at several places simultaneously.

The raids, part of a special operation that started at around 7 am, are being carried out in all districts of the state, the news agency reported.


In the operation, senior officials are leading police teams in the hunt for criminals and their hideouts.

It may be noted here that Goldy Brar was the main accused in the killing of popular singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead in Mansa district on May 29 last year.

Goldy Brar's real name is Satinderjeet Singh. As per police records, he is a native of Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab. He had migrated to Canada on a student visa in 2017. He is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and according to reports, runs operations in India from his base in Canada.
