Sanke in Bengal primary school's midday meal, students fall sick
A snake was found in a mid-day meal served at Mandalpur Primary School in Birbhum district of West Bengal, following which the students were rushed to a local hospital for medical check-up. The West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR) team visited the school on Thursday and has begun a probe. A show-cause notice has been issued to the headmaster of the school. A school staff, who cooked the mid-day meal, claimed that a snake was found in one of the containers that contained the lentils."Two women were cooking the food. One of them reportedly saw a snake while serving lentils. After they saw the snake, everyone was asked to stop eating," local people in the know said.
