'Slight water leakage': Northern Railway responds to water leak incident on Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat Express. Watch viral video

Passengers aboard the Delhi to Varanasi Vande Bharat Express were in for a surprise when water started dripping from the train's roof, soaking seats. In a viral video, a frustrated passenger captures the scene, exclaiming, “Tell everyone in your college! No body should be travelling…..”

Responding to the uproar, Northern Railway's official handle blamed "temporary blockage of pipes" for the mishap. They assured that the issue was promptly addressed by onboard staff.

"Slight water leakage was observed in coach because of temporary blockage of pipes! The same was attended and rectified by the staff on the train ."

Social Media Backlash

As the video gained traction, social media users didn't hold back. One user quipped, “When you pay the full amount for the ticket, the railway will provide AC as well as a waterfall.” Another sarcastically noted, “New facility added in Vande Bharat train... if you forget shower in morning no worries, Railways are helping you.”

Previous Incidents

This isn't the first time the Vande Bharat Express has faced scrutiny. Recently, a video of overcrowded ticketless passengers on the Lucknow-Hardiwar route also went viral, highlighting ongoing challenges in railway management.

Official Action Taken

Acknowledging the issue, the DRM Delhi (Northern Railways) escalated the matter to DRM Lucknow (NR) for investigation and resolution. DRM Lucknow later confirmed that the leakage was due to a temporary pipe blockage and assured corrective measures were swiftly implemented.
