Sixteen Chinese nationals have been granted Indian citizenship since 2007 and applications of 10 Chinese nationals are pending, the government told the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

The minister of state for home Nityanand Rai provided the information in response to a query from DMK member Tiruchi Siva about the asylum and citizenship requests of communities from China, including Tibetans, Uyghurs, Mongolians and other democratic dissidents, since 2019.
