One bus going towards Nashik tried to overtake a truck and ended up coming in front of the second bus, resulting in a collision, officials said.
In a tragic accident on National Highway 6 in Maharashtra's Buldhana district, six persons, including two women, were reportedly killed and 20 others injured after two luxury buses collided in the early hours of Saturday on a railway bridge in Malkapur town.

As per reports, one of the buses involved in the accident was on its way to Hingoli after Amarnath Yatra, while the other private bus was going towards Nashik.

One bus going towards Nashik tried to overtake a truck and ended up coming in front of the second bus, resulting in a collision, officials said.



The injurds were rushed to the district government hospital in Buldhana. Further details about the incident are still awaited.

This incident comes just a month after another tragic bus accident, when a bus traveling from Yavatmal to Pune caught fire on the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway, claiming the lives of 26 people and leaving several others injured.

In response to this accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also declared an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin.
