The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Tripura is set to commence on September 5, 2026. Enumerators will start visiting homes to collect forms from September 15 to October 14. The draft electoral rolls will be unveiled on October 21,...

Tripura has 28.97 lakh electors, of which 14.52 lakh are male and 14.45 lakh are female.
"As per the directive of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the SIR with a qualifying date of October 1, 2026, is set to begin in Tripura from September 5 for all the 60 Assembly segments," the CEO said at a press conference here.
He said enumerators will visit every household from September 15 to October 14 to get pre-printed enumeration forms filled up by the electors for draft publication of electoral rolls.
"During the process, the BLOs will not collect any document from the voters, but in case of any doubt the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) will issue notice to the concerned voters to submit documents or proof," he said, adding that as many as 11 documents notified by the ECI will be treated as valid papers in support of claim.
Pandey said electors whose names appeared in the 2005 electoral rolls after conducting SIR will get their names enrolled by filling up the enumeration forms and do not need to submit any documents.
"The draft publication of the electoral rolls will be published on October 21 while claims and objections over the draft rolls will be allowed from October 21 to November 20," he said.
The CEO said if any elector is not satisfied with the decision of AERO, he or she can approach the District Election Officer (DEO) and the CEO for corrective measures.
The ECI has already conducted training programmes for BLOs to carry out the entire process smoothly to ensure error-free electoral rolls, the CEO said.
He added the final rolls for the 60 Assembly constituencies will be published on December 23, 2026.
