Siddhu Moosewala murder case: Gangster Goldy Brar detained in California

Notorious gangster Goldy Brar, main accused in the Siddhu Moosewala murder case, has been detained in California according to media reports.

Moosewala's father, on Thursday, demanded that the Union government announce a reward of Rs 2 crore for any information that leads to the arrest of Brar.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann confirmed in Ahmedabad that Brar has been detained by the police in California and that he would "definitely be brought to India". He will be in the custody of the Punjab Police "very soon", Mann told reporters.


In Mansa, Moosewala's father Balkaur Singh said he was yet to get any official information about the development.

"I do not have any official information. I learnt through media reports that Brar has been detained. If it is so, I welcome it," Singh said when asked by reporters for his reaction.

Balkaur Singh said he was even ready to pay the reward from his own pocket if the government was unable to give out the high amount.

"Why don't you announce a reward of Rs 2 crore. If somebody helps in getting him (Brar) caught, this reward money can be given,"Singh said.

Satinderjeet Singh, alias Brar, a native of Sri Muktsar Sahibin Punjab, had gone to Canada on a student visa in 2017 and he is an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Brar is also a key conspirator in a Dera Sacha Sauda follower's murder last month.
