Shivraj Singh Chouhan meets states for smooth shift to VB-G RAM G scheme
New Delhi: Rural development minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday held a meeting with his state counterparts to ensure smooth implementation of the new employment guarantee programme from July 1, and announced state-wise allocations of the FY27 budgetary outlay of ₹95,692 crore.

This allocation is on top of the ₹30,000 crore that was earmarked for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for this fiscal year until the proposed Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission-Gramin (VB-G RAM G) programme replaced it. Together, the funds allocated for these two employment schemes exceed ₹1.25 lakh crore for FY27.

Given its large population, Uttar Pradesh has been allocated the largest share (₹12,221 crore), followed by West Bengal (₹8,508 crore), TN (₹7,958 crore), Andhra Pradesh (₹7,707 crore), Rajasthan (₹7,582 crore), Bihar (₹6,716 crore), Madhya Pradesh (₹6,252 crore), Karnataka (₹5,710 crore), Maharashtra (₹4,420 crore) and Telangana (₹4,230 crore).

Chouhan said "not a single worker should remain without work even for a day" and emphasised that no disruption in job creation, wage payments or statutory rights would be acceptable, as per a rural development ministry statement.
