Sheikh Hasina writes to Modi hailing India's vaccination drive

India has been an important source of Covid-19 vaccines for Bangladesh from the very beginning of the vaccination program and conveyed thanks to the government of India for resuming the export of the Covishield vaccine, according to Hasina’s letter.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for achieving the historic milestone of administering 1 billion Covid-19 vaccine doses.

In a letter to Modi, Hasina called this a remarkable success achieved in dealing with the damages that the Covid-19 pandemic has inflicted on humankind.

"It is a major step towards the path of recovery and normalcy for India as well as the region," the Bangladesh PM said.

She also informed that Bangladesh Govt has vaccinated 60 million people and called for joint efforts to address the pandemic.
