As part of his Rs 10,000 crore will, Ratan Tata's assets include a 2,000 square-foot beach bungalow in Alibaug, a 2-storey house on Juhu Tara Road in Mumbai, fixed deposits exceeding Rs 350 crore, and a 0.83% stake in Tata Sons, the holding company of the $165-billion Tata Group, which will be transferred to the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation (RTEF).
Shantanu and Ratan Tata's bond:
Ratan Tata who could never hide his love for dogs and his pets has also made provisions to provide for his beloved Tito to ensure 'unlimited care' was provided to him after his death, reported ToI further. It was the mutual love and concern for dogs which had formed a bond between Tata and Naidu, a Pune-based youngster who had started working for a Tata group company.
Outside of his day job of managing affairs for Tata, Naidu kept creating socially relevant platforms and services, and his indulgent boss often backed these ideas, up prime among them was Goodfellows, a subscription-based companionship service for senior citizens started in 2022.
Though struggling on the health front, Tata made sure that he attends the launch event for the startup in which he had invested an undisclosed sum.
What is inside Ratan Tata's estate?
The Halekai house in Colaba, where Ratan Tata lived until his passing, is owned by Ewart Investments, a 100% subsidiary of Tata Sons. The future of the industrialist's residence will be determined by Ewart, according to ToI report. Ratan Tata designed both the Halekai house and the Alibaug bungalow, though the fate of the Alibaug property remains unclear.Ratan Tata’s extensive collection of 20-30 cars, including luxury models, is currently housed at the Halekai residence and the Taj Wellington Mews service apartments in Colaba. The future of the collection is under consideration, with options including acquisition by the Tata Group for display in its Pune museum or auctioning.
