River water levels rise
Seventeen river gauge stations across India are currently above the warning level, with four in severe flood condition where water levels are at or above the danger mark but still below the historical peak, according to the Central Water Commission (CWC).

According to the latest flood bulletin issued on Wednesday, there are no stations currently in an "extreme flood situation", where the previous highest flood level (HFL) is equalled or exceeded.

However, four sites, including locations on the Dhansiri River in Assam and the Wainganga River in Maharashtra, are in a severe flood condition, indicating a significant flood risk.

An additional 13 stations are witnessing "above normal flood situations", with water levels surpassing warning levels but remaining below danger thresholds.

These include rivers such as the Brahmaputra, Ganga, Gandak, and Subarnarekha across Assam, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

The inflow forecast component of the report indicates that 34 reservoir and barrage sites have received inflows above their specified thresholds.
