Serial blasts warning sends Mumbai police into a tizzy; investigations on
Searches were carried out at popular public places and key installations across Mumbai. Nothing suspicious has been found yet, and further investigations are going on.

Police on Saturday evening got a call from an unidentified person about possible serial blasts. Search operations are on following the call, police officials told news agencies.
"Mumbai Police Control received a threat call on Saturday evening, around 6. The caller claimed that there would be serial blasts in Mumbai before hanging up," ANI reported citing an official.
"Police are currently trying to find out the caller's details," the official told ANI.
Searches were carried out at popular public places and key installations across Mumbai. Nothing suspicious has been found yet, and further investigations are going on.
Earlier, an email was sent about bombs planted at eleven places in Mumbai. The mailer sought the resignation of RBI's Governor Shaktikanta Das and Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. It later turned out to be a hoax. Police arrested three persons from Vadodara in connection with the mail.
Security heightened
On new year's eve, over 15,000 police officers, including those from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and Quick Response Teams (QRTs), will be pressed into service, reports said.The police will conduct nakabandi, or checkpoints, at 121 critical points across the city, including entry and exit points. Popular tourist spots and areas anticipating high foot traffic, such as beaches, will see robust police presence.
Besides, security will be heightened at crucial installations, religious sites, and areas with high visitor turnout.
