“Ongoing smuggling of drugs is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram, especially along the India-Myanmar Border,” the statement further said.
In yet another success against smuggling activities, Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), recovered 2,41,900 Methamphetamine tablets in Kawnpui Vengthar.

In a statement, Assam Rifles stated the operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles, Mizoram Police, Kolasib based on specific information. The cost of the recovered Methamphetamine tablets has been estimated at Rs 12,09,50,000.

A person was also detained by the Excise & Narcotics Department.


“Ongoing smuggling of drugs is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram, especially along the India-Myanmar Border,” the statement further said.
