Security forces apprehend one hard-core NSCN-IM insurgent in Arunachal Pradesh

Security forces apprehended one hard-core insurgent of NSCN-IM. Assam Rifles along with State Police apprehended SS Lt Col Anok Wangsu from Longding town, Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh.

Sources said that based on a specific intelligence input, the joint team of Assam Rifles and Longding Police discreetly approached the suspected house and apprehended the hardcore insurgent. Self-Styled, Lt Col Anok Wangsu, who is the Area Commander of NSCN-IM Wancho region was found in possession of a large number of incriminating documents and extortion money.

He added that the apprehension of the cadre is a major blow to the illegal activities of NSCN-IM in the region as he was involved in recruitment and various other antinational activities. The apprehended insurgent is being handed over to Longding Police Station for further investigation.
