North District police teams later intercepted and seized the vehicle at a picket in the Rupnagar area. According to Delhi Police sources cited by ANI, the vehicle attempted to enter the Assembly complex forcefully, prompting an immediate security response. The situation was later brought under control, and no injuries have been reported so far.
Officials said the car, driven by a masked individual, broke through Gate No. 2 of the Assembly premises at around 2 pm. The vehicle, bearing a Uttar Pradesh registration number, managed to enter the complex before being intercepted.
"The driver proceeded towards the office of Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta and placed a flower bouquet near the porch before retreating," said a Delhi Secretariat official.
Authorities said the incident has raised "serious" security concerns and is being treated as a potential "security breach".
The episode comes close on the heels of bomb threats received by the Assembly during the recently concluded budget session, adding to concerns over security at the complex.
Police said further details are being gathered and an investigation is underway.
