A 40-year-old scrap dealer was killed by his live-in partner in Gurugram’s DLF Phase 3 area early Saturday, police said. The accused, a 27-year-old woman, allegedly stabbed the man in a fit of rage after an argument about him speaking with his wife. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The deceased, Harish Sharma, was a resident of Baliawas village and had been living with the accused, Yashmeet Kaur, in a rented flat for over a year. Despite being married with two daughters, Sharma was reportedly in regular contact with his wife, who was unwell. Police said this angered Kaur.

On the day of the incident, Kaur allegedly saw Sharma talking to his wife and confronted him. The argument escalated, and Kaur stabbed him in the chest with a kitchen knife, police said. A friend, Vijay alias Sethi, was reportedly in another room at the time. The victim’s nephew has alleged in a police complaint that both Kaur and Vijay planned the murder.

Police have arrested Kaur, who confessed to the crime. The murder weapon and a blood-stained T-shirt were recovered from the flat.

Separate case: Man killed, body buried after relationship dispute

In another case reported on the same day, Gurugram police arrested three men in connection with the murder of a 37-year-old man whose body was later exhumed. The main accused, Ravindra (34), allegedly confessed to strangling the victim with the help of two accomplices. The victim’s wife had earlier filed a missing complaint at Udyog Vihar police station.

Complaint points to earlier sexual assault and blackmail

According to police, the victim's wife alleged in a separate complaint filed on July 31 that Ravindra, her neighbour, raped her in March while her husband was away for work. She said Ravindra recorded a video of the act and threatened to release it if she told anyone.

Police said Ravindra claimed during interrogation that he was in a relationship with the woman. On July 26, he and two others allegedly pulled her husband, Vikram, into a car while he was returning home. The trio allegedly strangled him and buried the body near Mohammadpur Jharsa village.

The two other accused, Manish (19) and Fariyaad (20), both from Meerut, were also arrested. Police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. A city court has sent all three men to five days of police remand.
