The Supreme Court on Monday stayed the criminal proceedings against Congress leader Salman Khurshid pertaining to a case of trespass registered against him by the Delhi Public School Society (DPS Society).

A division bench comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice Vikram Nath granted an interim stay on the proceedings against Khurshid in connection with a first information report (FIR) registered by Delhi Police. Khurshid and two other people have been accused by the DPS Society of trespassing at their office premises in south Delhi.

An FIR was registered by Delhi Police in 2015 after Khurshid and two others were accused of barging into the DPS's premises and forcibly occupying the office of the chairman.
