Sandip Ghosh corruption case: ED conducts multiple raids including ex-RG Kar College principal's residence

The case is also probed by CBI and have arrested Ghosh in this connection on Monday.
In the morning, a team of ED reached Ghosh's residence in Beliaghata at around 6.40am. However, they had to wait outside as there was no one in the house. The raids started early this morning at two locations in Howrah and Subhasgram, people in the know said.
Later, Sandip Ghosh's wife came with the keys and then ED officials could enter his home. Ghosh's wife said, "Sandip Ghosh is innocent. He is not involved in any corruption. The allegations are false."
In Howrah, the agency officials are raiding the residences of Biplab Singh and Kousik Kole's residence, who were believed to be close aides of Ghosh. Singh has also been arrested and he is the vendor who was given tender illegally, flouting rules.
Another team of ED officials have visited Prasun Chattopadhyay's residence in South 24 Parganas district.
In Hooghly's Chandannagar, another of ED officials went to Sandip Ghosh's in-law's house. But no one could be found in that house. Another businessman, Ankur Roy's residence is also being raided in Madurdaha by the central agency.
Meanwhile, Sandip Ghosh has moved the Supreme Court against an order of the Calcutta High Court transferring the probe into allegations of irregularities in tender processes and mismanagement against him from a SIT to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
