Saif Ali Khan attack case: Cops detain attacker, brought to Bandra Police station for questioning
In the ongoing investigation into the alarming intrusion at actor Saif Ali Khan's residence in Bandra, where he lives with his wife, fellow actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children, police have revealed concerning details about the security measures—or lack thereof—at the family’s quadruplex, ToI reported on January 17.

According to officials cited in the report (by Ahmed Ali), the property was devoid of any surveillance cameras, both inside and outside, which has severely hindered efforts to track the movements of the intruder/attacker.

The suspect was captured fleeing through a fire escape on the CCTV of the building, Satguru Sharan. However, police noted that he likely gained access to the Khan residence through a duct, as there were no CCTV cameras positioned nearby to monitor that entry point. Officers said they were astonished at the complete absence of security protocols in place at the high-profile home.

A police team, accompanied by forensic experts and fingerprint analysts, conducted an investigation at the Khan residence to piece together the series of events leading up to the incident. A police officer told the newspaper, "There were no personal guards positioned at the entrance or within the flat to oversee visitors or respond to emergencies. Moreover, the building society itself did not maintain a register logbook to keep track of individuals entering and leaving the premises."

Another senior officer emphasised the seriousness of the situation, saying, "It is genuinely surprising that a couple of such high stature does not have adequate security measures in place. This incident serves as a wake-up call, not only for the Khans but also for other celebrities who may find themselves in similar circumstances."

The police also pointed to the recent murder of politician Baba Siddique and threats made against actor Salman Khan, noting that these incidents highlight the potential dangers that public figures face. It may be noted here that just last year, two assailants on a motorcycle fired shots at Salman Khan's home.
