Sagar: Thousands of iPhones looted from truck going from Gurgaon to Chennai in Madhya Pradesh

Sagar Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Uikey stated that an investigation is underway to validate the transporters' claims about the loot. He mentioned that Apple, the manufacturer of these phones, has not contacted the police yet.
"We are verifying the claim of the transporters of some 1500 iPhones worth Rs 11 crore getting looted. Apple, which manufactures these phones, has not contacted police so far. I am at the spot, some 35 kilometers from the district headquarters, and videography of the truck is in progress," he said.
The container truck was en route from Gurugram in Haryana to Chennai. The looting reportedly started when the truck was in the adjoining Narsinghpur district. Uikey added that a case would be registered shortly after the initial probe is complete.
Sagar Zone Inspector-General of Police Pramod Verma has taken disciplinary action by making Bandari police station in-charge inspector Bhagchand Uikey and assistant sub-inspector Rajendra Pandey "line attached," while head constable Rajesh Pandey has been suspended. This action was taken due to their negligence in the case, as they had not registered a complaint when the truck driver first approached them.
The additional SP emphasized the negligence shown by the personnel, which led to their immediate removal and suspension.
