S Jaishankar explains why India’s ancient math is the foundation for modern AI
At the UN exhibition ‘From Shunya to Ananta’ in New York, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said the global narrative of scientific progress viewed history through a “narrow lens” and overlooked India’s contributions to mathematics and technology. Quoting India’s ancient role in developing “the very code” behind the digital age, Jaishankar argued that AI tools and a broader understanding of history could help “right the distortions of the past” and reshape how the world understands scientific heritage.
