Machines fail, Romeo and Julie don't
The NDRF has been hailed for miraculously saving a girl in quake-hit Turkey, but a lot of the credit goes to two members of its dog squad - Romeo and Julie. As per an ANI report, Romeo and Julie succeeded where machines failed, playing an instrumental role in detecting the girl's whereabouts under mountains of rubble.

The heroic act
Talking to ANI, dog handler Constable Kundan said, "We asked Julie to go inside the rubble. She went in and started barking, which was a sign that she had detected a survivor trapped underneath." "For reconfirmation, we have sent Romeo into the rubble and he also confirmed through barking that someone was, indeed, alive under the debris," another dog handler said.
