Reports indicate that Hurricane Beryl, originating in the Atlantic, has intensified with maximum sustained winds of 210 kmph.
Classified as a Category 4 storm, Beryl was last located approximately 570 km east-southeast of Barbados, prompting the Bridgetown airport to plan for an evening shutdown, as per a TOI report.
Initially, the team's travel plan included an Emirates flight from New York with a stopover in Dubai. However, due to the current situation, sources informed PTI of a revised plan to arrange a charter flight directly from Barbados to India.
"The team was supposed to travel from Bridgetown to New York and then to India via Dubai. Now, a charter flight is being arranged straight to Delhi. A meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also being considered," a source cited by TOI reported.
India ended an 11-year wait for an ICC championship by defeating South Africa by seven runs in a thrilling final to secure their second T20 World Cup title on Saturday.
Virat Kohli's impressive 76 off 59 balls helped India reach 176/7. The team then restricted South Africa to 169/8 to lift the trophy they last won in 2007.
