Mumbai: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani on Sunday announced a plan to invest ₹7 lakh crore in Gujarat, reinforcing the state's position as a global hub for clean energy, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing.

Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences for the Kutch and Saurashtra region in Rajkot, Ambani said Reliance would double its investments in the state, having already invested over ₹3.5 lakh crore in the last five years.

The fresh investments are expected to generate large-scale employment and accelerate economic growth across Gujarat, the company said in a press release.

Clean Energy Hub

Ambani highlighted Reliance's ambitious clean energy plans centered in Jamnagar, where the company is building what he described as the world's largest integrated clean energy ecosystem. The project will span solar manufacturing, battery energy storage, green hydrogen, green fertilisers, sustainable aviation fuel, maritime fuels and advanced materials.

"Jamnagar, once India's largest hydrocarbon energy exporter, will become the country's largest exporter of green energy and materials," Ambani said.

In Kutch, Reliance is developing one of the world's largest multi-gigawatt, utility-scale solar power projects with round-the-clock clean energy generation enabled by advanced storage systems and modern grid integration.

AI, Data Centres and Affordable Intelligence

Reliance will build India's largest artificial intelligence-ready data centre in Jamnagar, Ambani announced. The facility will support Reliance Jio's upcoming "people-first" AI platform aimed at making AI services affordable and accessible to all Indians.

The platform will enable citizens to access AI tools in their own languages and on their own devices, he said, adding that the initiative would boost productivity and innovation nationwide.

Ambani announced Reliance Foundation's support for India's Olympic ambitions, including the Prime Minister's vision of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games in Ahmedabad. As part of this effort, Reliance will partner with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Naranpura in Ahmedabad.
