The chief minister said out of the 2,16,439 beneficiaries 1,91,684 beneficiaries’ bank accounts have been linked to their Aadhaar numbers. As for others, their Aadhaar numbers were being linked to their bank accounts.
Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday asked banks not to adjust the hardship assistance the government has released to the SB accounts of street vendors against their loan dues.

The chief minister said this as he launched the direct benefit transfer (DBT) of Rs 2000 each. The government released Rs 33.83 crore for handing to 2,16,439 street vendors via DBT.

The street vendors, enrolled under the Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood department’s Deendayal Antyoday Scheme- National urban livelihood mission, were picked up for the benefit.


The chief minister said out of the 2,16,439 beneficiaries 1,91,684 beneficiaries’ bank accounts have been linked to their Aadhaar numbers. As for others, their Aadhaar numbers were being linked to their bank accounts.

The government has asked banks not to adjust the relief amount towards any other outstanding or dues of the account holders, Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwatha Narayana, who holds the portfolio of the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, said.
